Out Alone In the Streets

She was six years old when she left home,

Toiling and struggling in the creepy streets.

Looking and begging for a shelter

No one was available to sympathise with her

How lonely and miserable it felt and how scary the night was.

Being afraid of the night, she only slept in the day.

The streets were unsanitary.

Undoubtedly, she eventually turned into a man-made stunk.

Unlike others, every meal which she barely took was a feast.

She fought over leftover foods with dogs and rats just to get something to munch on.

Rarely was she ever looked at

She watched people walk down the streets with their fancy dresses and shoes,

Pathetic teenagers trying to find love,

Marriages getting broken,

Young sons and daughters cursing their own parents,

Ungrateful people complaining about their everyday life,

People having sexual affairs on the road,

Robbers discussing their plans and wives plotting against their own husbands.

It hurts to witness the more privileged in society throw out their foods.

She turned sixteen yesterday not even was it celebrated.

I mean, who would want to do that?

She sobers from a broken heart and loneliness

She has nobody by her side,

She trades herself to make ends meet

She now sleeps with different men either married, divorced or single.

She is now liable to contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

She is now a drug addict and can't live a day without it.

She has been tagged as a filthy whore.

No one has the right to blame her or be judgemental about her current life,

For the same people were the people that saw her as an outcast.

Her fate turned fuzzy having no one to help her,

Stretch forth your hand today and don't make it tomorrow.
